A remarkable alliance of five Austrian conference centres is now in place. Putting potential rivalries to one side, Bregenz, Graz, Innsbruck, Linz and Salzburg have joined forces to market themselves as the 5Star Congress Group Austria. The gala launch for current and prospective customers, and conference and event organisers was held at the Vienna Chamber Opera.

The objective is to draw attention to the special qualities of the five centres. High professional standards, individual support and consulting, efficient and straightforward processes, and proactive services are the watchwords for the new group. Each of the cities has proved time and again how these values apply to them. Bregenz's caught breathtaking lakeside location caught the attention of the makers of the latest Bond film. In Linz the timeless modern architecture of the Design Center has made its mark when hosting numerous memorable events. The key to Innsbruck's appeal is the spectacular outdoors while Salzburg sets the stage for success. Finally, Graz combines the attributes of one of Europe's most attractive cities with impressive conference facilities.

Stronger as an alliance

Each of the five locations is large enough to meet the very highest of expectations. At the same time they are compact enough to keep travel time in the city to a minimum, creating the right conditions for close working relationships. Impressive architecture and a rich variety of attractions close to the conference centres give each destination its own cachet.

The five centres are even stronger now that they are part of one alliance. Marketed as the 5Star Congress Group Austria, activities include a new homepage (www.5starcongressgroup.com), a newsletter, intensive PR work, events and telephone marketing. "This promises to generate more attention than would be possible if each member advertised alone," says project manager Helga Ginzinger.
